At the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine, experts in nutrition provide a valuable adjunct to the medical specialties available, providing individualized programs for the professional and amateur athlete alike. As an athlete whether at the collegiate, high school, middle school, or professional level you have special nutrition needs. These needs vary depending on peak-performance requirements. Any athlete may suffer from sluggishness, tired legs, slow recovery, or other conditions that may relate to a nutrition deficit. Inadequate eating or hydrating may be factors. The issue may not be as simple as overtraining.
